Chris Holden is the President of the FTTH Council Europe, appointed by the Board of Directors on 22 April 2010. Chris has been active in the FTTH Council Europe since 2005, initially as a member of the Infrastructure and Architecture Committee, then of the Deployment & Operations Committee. In April 2008 Chris was elected chair of the D&O Committee and in April 2009 Board member of the FTTH Council Europe. In addition to his Board activities, he was active as Board liaison with the D&O Committee and Regulatory Committee and is also a member of the Council’s Business Committee.

Karin Ahl was elected Board member & Treasurer in April 2011. She got involved in the FTTH Council Europe through the, at that time, new Business Committee and its work on the Business Guide in 2009. Early 2010 Karin was appointed the vice-chair position in this Committee and was, during the General Assembly in April, elected chair.

Edgar Aker is board member since October 2011, replacing Albert Grooten as Prysmian representative in the board. Edgar has been working in the FTTH Council Europe since 2007, first as a member of the Deployment & Operations (D&O) committee (2007-2009). In 2009 he became a member of the Business Committee (BC), last year acting in this committee as the vice-chairman.

Eric Festraets was elected Board member in April 2010. In 2007 Eric joined the FTTH Council Europe as vice-chairman of the Deployment and Operations Committee and in March 2009, Eric took over the chair position of this committee.

Martin Hatas was re-elected Board member in April 2010. He was first elected Board member in April 2009. From October 2010 until June 2011 he was replaced by Rolf Johansson, but since Rolf left Ericsson in June 2011 Martin stepped back in and resumed his earlier responsibilities within the Council.
Martin has been working in FTTH Council Europe since 2008, where he worked in the Market Intelligence Committee (MIC) and the Intenational Advisory Group (IAG).

Jouni Heinonen was elected Board member in April 2011. From April 2010 to April 2011 he was the vice-chairman of the Business Committee with an active role in updating the Business Guide and preparing the Standard Business presentation.

Sophie Pautonnier was re-elected as Board member in April 2010 for her last 2-year term. She was
first elected Board member & Treasurer in April 2008. In April 2011, she handed over her position as Treasurer to newly elected Board member Karin Ahl. Sophie has been active in the FTTH Council Europe since 2006, initially as a member of the Deployment and Operation Committee. She was then one of the founding and active member of the SUDEFIB committee. In addition to her Board activities, she is now the Board liaison with the Munich Ad-Hoc group, supporting the organisation team for the next FTTH Conference.

Paul Schwartz was re-elected Board member in April 2011. In April 2010 he was elected Board member for the first time. Since 2008 Paul has been working actively in the FTTH Council Europe, where he has been contributing to the Network & Services Revenue Committee in the development of the various analyses and research studies.

Pastora Valero was elected Board member in April 2010 for two years. She has been active in the FTTH Council Europe since its foundation in 2004. She has always been an active member of the Policy & Regulation Committee, and served as chair and vice-chair in the past. Pastora is now Board liason for the Policy and Regulatory Expert Group.

Chair: Paolo Sebben was elected chair of the Business Committee in April 2011.

Committee: The objective of our Business Committee is to make the strongest possible commercial case for fibre access deployment. It concerns itself with the economics of FTTH, including both network rollout and operating costs.
The Committee recognises that not all organisations deploying or considering a deployment of FTTH are from a traditional telco background, and that many may consequently have a knowledge gap. This is why it has published the FTTH Business Guide.
The guide is all about filling that gap, helping organisations to develop a sound business case for FTTH so they can move forward quickly once a project is decided on, avoiding costly mistakes. The Business Guide is usually updated on a yearly basis.
